The Mighty Country

I went to china on May 2008 with 2 of my brothers. We departed from jakarta on 15th of may to Hongkong. By the time we arrived at Hongkong I was already amaze by its airport... such a great one. I believe it might be one of the best in Asia.

The flight took almost 4 hours by China Airlines, and I thank God there were no hump and bums. Later I found out that the airport was in renovation in order to celebrate the 2008 olympic games.

In hongkong we were pick by our local travel agent and headed straight to Shen Zhen, and do you know hoe many immigration custom we had to pass in order to get to China Mainland?? it was 3 immigration customs, so you have to know how exhausted we were sliding on and off our luggage from the bus, not that i'm complaining, it was indeed a good exercise for my almost overweight body.

Shen Zhen is located near the sea, it is saperated by shen zhen river with Hongkong. So back in the old days when people from China Mainland wanted to go to Hongkong illegally, they do it during nights time.

We stayed at Felicity Hotel, it was considered one of the best, a five star (or four??) hotel. The room was nice and the lobby was good, the best part of the hotel was it located near Luo Hu mall ( the place where u can get cheapest stuffs, like bags, clothes, and shoes... love those bags btw.). During its glorious times Felicity hotel was visited by some famous leaders of the world. It has George Bush, Tony Blair.. etc.

Like most modern city in China, there were a lot of flats (little apartment in Shen Zhen), mostly was sited in the heart of the city. In Its almost two million people, shen zhen -er were populated mostly 80% by women (yes, because women labor was considered cheaper in China).

There were windows of the world, who shows mostly popular places on earth, such as Eiffel Tower, Piramyds,and sky scrappers. But what i love most about shen zhen was Luo hu mall and culture village.

Lo Hu mall consist of world labels (of course it was made in China), I was so thrilled to find out that those labels handbags was perfectly made, and those shoes.... hhhmmm just to cure to sore of your eyes.

I saw some acrobatic dance shows at culture village. But because due to the earthquake hit China at May 12th, the shows was canceled for three days.

So.. during my three days stay at shen zhen, the experience was etched in my heart, and I am looking forward to go there again.
